Two things I made
A brief emergence from a newborn trance.
A few weeks ago, I gave birth to a baby boy. He’s mottled, flaky, terrifyingly weak and so, so beautiful. Most of what I’m focused on right now is making him fatter with the milk I’m producing in a very mammalian fashion with my own body, and being as good to him and his sister as I can manage.
But for the past year or so I’ve been working on a different creative project that’s also recently come to fruition, and that’s a documentary about stalking. Stalked is a three-part series following three women who have been harassed, followed and tormented by impossibly horrible men—and come out the other side with their spirits and senses of humour intact. The trailer is here:
This is the first time I’ve dabbled in film & TV and my role on Stalked was Story Producer. It was a hugely gratifying experience, mostly because the women and crew were such excellent people to work with, but also because the topic is the same one I keep prodding in the rest of my journalistic work: the dark ways we treat and are treated by one another, and how we’re able to thrive anyway.
The series will launch on Sky Open on the 4th of May, airing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and all three episodes will be available for streaming on Neon from Monday 4th.
Please check it out! I’m biased, obviously, but I think you’ll find it a very good watch indeed.

Hugest congrats on flaky baby boy! And looking forward to Stalked (even though suspect it will cement my theory that we need a delete button for certain men)
You are a phenomenal creator in every way Maddie.
Congratulations on both of your babies, and thank you for everything 💛
